Wednesday, October 18, 2023

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon, Parks Commissioner Brian Kelley, and Galaxy Media Chief Operating Officer Carrie Wojtaszek announce that the 34th season of Wegmans Lights on the Lake is scheduled to illuminate Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool, November 13 –January 12, 2024, from 5-10pm, nightly.

"Once again Onondaga County is partnering with Galaxy Media to present the 34th season of Lights on the Lake,” said County Executive Ryan McMahon.  “This holiday tradition continues to grow and remain a favorite event for so many people. We appreciate the collaborative effort of the Parks Department and Galaxy to continuously improve the show and look forward to celebrating the 34th anniversary.”

The public-private partnership has allowed the continuation and growth of an already successful program. Sponsored by Wegmans, collaborative efforts like these have proven to be beneficial in creating exciting events in Onondaga County.

Wegmans is proud to once again sponsor this family friendly holiday event,” said Evelyn Ingram, Director, Community Engagement at Wegmans Food Markets. “During the holiday season, this year in particular, it is gratifying to know we are providing an option for socially distant and safe entertainment to families across this region.”

"We are so proud to continue our partnership with Onondaga County,” said Carrie Wojtaszek, COO of Galaxy Media.  “This is a great family tradition that thousands from our community enjoy.  We love being a part of an event that allows families to make memories each year!”

Since 2009, they have served over 49,000 CNY Veterans, military members and their families by distributing over 3.6 million pounds of free groceries and $254,000 in gift cards. They receive no federal, state or local government funding. They rely solely on the generosity of the community.

On Sunday, November 19th at 6am, the popular Lights on the Lake 5K will return to Onondaga Lake Park.  The early start time of the race will allow for runners to view the lights while running before sunrise.  A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.  The race will be capped at 750 runners.  Registration for the run is now available at https://www.lightsonthelake.com/lol-5k.
