Passport to Family Wellness
Onondaga County Parks and Wegmans have teamed up to offer the "Passport to Wellness " program. The "Passports" offer a fun "out of the box" idea—designed to encourage exploration of local park trails and are available for free at participating parks and Wegmans or you can download and print your own copy. Monday Mile Program
The Monday Mile program is a way to get active in Central New York. Across Onondaga County, there are a variety of one-mile trails that you can walk, jog, roll or stroll. Simply find a route and get moving. Click here for more information.
Beaver Lake Nature Center
Several programs occur throughout the year at Beaver Lake including:
T'ai Chi Chih
This 8 week session of T'ai Chi Chih benefits body, mind and spirit. This short (20 movement) simple form of T'ai Chi can be taught to anyone of any age. Contact Beaver Lake for current program dates, (315) 638-2519 or blnc@ongov.net.
Walking & Yoga
A great class for complete wellness, each five-week session will lead you on a path to a healthy lifestyle for body, mind and spirit. Class will begin with 30 minutes of walking followed by 60 minutes of yoga poses. Click here for current program dates.
Wellness Walking Group
Meet for a morning exercise walk on the trails around Beaver Lake. The group walks a few miles, either combining different trails or taking the 3 mile Lake Loop. Afterward, stay and visit over coffee.
Every Monday and Wednesday, year round. April-November 9am; December-March 10am.
Onondaga Lake Park
The Live Well program, designed by an exercise physiologist and life coach, is a comprehensive program focusing on nutrition, exercise and wellness topics that can improve your life, one workout, one step, once change at a time. Click here for the current schedule.
