2022 Winter Photo Contest Announced

Onondaga County Parks is excited to announce the Fourth Annual Winter Photo Contest which will kick off on New Year's Day and run through January 31, 2022. Once again, Syracuse City Parks is joining in on the fun. Participants will be able to scout out the best locations in Onondaga County Parks including Beaver Lake Nature Center, Highland Forest and Onondaga Lake Park along with the multitude of City Parks found throughout Syracuse in search of an award-winning photograph.
Photographers of all abilities, ages 5 and up, are invited to enter for a chance to win prizes in five categories including Most Artistic, Best Action Shot, Best Winter Scene, Best Portrait and Junior Photographer (ages 5-17). The contest is free to enter with a limit of two entries per participant.
To be eligible, photos must be taken at any OPEN Onondaga County Park or Syracuse City Park during the contest period of January 1-31, 2022. Regular admission rates if applicable will apply. Photographers must follow all park rules, stay on designated paths with the proper equipment (i.e. snowshoes, cross country skis) and obey posted signs. Flash photography is prohibited where indicated. Photo contest entries will only be accepted via an online application and are due by 4 p.m. on February 1, 2022. Late entries will not be accepted. All current Covid-19 protocols must be followed.
