Rosamond Gifford Zoo Offers $1 Admission to Moms – and Dads – on Mother’s Day

In honor of Mother’s Day, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo will offer $1 admission for moms AND dads on Sunday, May 12, Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announced.
“We thought of offering $1 admission to moms for Mother’s Day, and then decided we should include the dads as well,” McMahon said. “That way, we make it easier for families to bring mom to enjoy our beautiful zoo on her special day.”
Zoo Director Ted Fox said the Mother’s Day gift comes at a time when there also are many animal mothers at the zoo. “This is a great time to honor mothers as we have been welcoming new animal babies to the zoo and seeing lots of parents with young children visiting us with the spring weather.”
Zoo admission is usually $9 for adults, $5 for youth aged 3 to 17, $5 for seniors 62 and over, and free for children 2 and under. The zoo also offers free admission to U.S. veterans and active military.
On Sunday, May 12, Mother’s Day, all parents will be able to visit the zoo for a $1 admission fee. The zoo is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, including holidays, with the exceptions of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Days.
