2019 Winter Photo Contest
•To be eligible, photos must be taken at any open Onondaga County Park during the contest period of January 1-31, 2019. Photo contest entries are due by 4 p.m. on February 1, 2019. Photographers must follow all park rules, stay on designated paths with the proper equipment (i.e. snowshoes, cross country skis) and obey posted signs. Please see contest rules for complete information on parks, etc.
•Photographers of all abilities, ages 5 and up, are invited to enter for a chance to win prizes.
•Free admission for participants who show their camera (mobile devices are not accepted as cameras for the contest discount, although they may be used to take & submit photos) at Beaver Lake Nature Center, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo and Highland Forest* upon entry. Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery, Oneida Shores, Onondaga Lake Park* and Otisco Lake Park do not charge admission.
•First and Second Place Winners will be chosen in four categories - Most Artistic, Best Winter Scene, Best Action Shot, Junior Photographer (ages 5-17). All photos must be in digital format and labeled according to which one of the four categories you wish to compete in and include the name of the park where the photo was taken. (Example: BestActionShot_OnondagaLakePark). Please see contest rules for more information.

*The free admission offer at Highland Forest only applies to the snowshoe/hiking trails. Visitors are welcome to take photos on the ski trails or on the sleigh rides but must pay the regular cost to participate in those activities. And participants may submit photos taken at Lights on the Lake but admission to the show is not included in this offer.
During your visit to Onondaga County Parks, you may be photographed, videotaped, or filmed by Onondaga County Parks or authorized parties. Your attendance/admission serves as permission for use of these images by Onondaga County Parks. Commercial photography or filming is prohibited without permission of Onondaga County Parks.
